Monday 8th of December 2025. Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.

Tuesday 9th December.  Oh dear! The marina is full, I have to stay outside on the anchor until a space comes free which the man said could be a month or two. I think he's scaremongering but I suppose he has to give me the worst case. He showed me the list of twelve boats in the queue ahead of me. Very strong winds are expected at the weekend, if Nomad survives that without the anchor dragging then I would feel confident leaving the boat anchored over Christmas. I'll have to read up on anchoring.

Sunday 7th of December 2025. On the way to Las Palmas.

No wind. I'm sitting right on top of the anchor in 5 metres of crystal clear water.

Thursday 4th of December 2025. Pasito Blanco. Grand Canaria.

Pasito Blanco marina. Back on the boat and looking forward to moving on, this place is as quiet as a graveyard. There is one restaurant, no shops or bars. However, I have to wait until Sunday at least for the wind to change and allow me to move on up the coast to Las Palmas. This is up the road. Apparently Gran Canaria has very clear skies, good for star gazing and these were used for tracking early Apollo missions.

Saturday 22nd of November 2025. Pasito Blanco, Gran Canaria.

Moved to Puerto de Mogan for a change of scenery. Sunset on the cliff face. View from my anchorage

Sunday 16th of November 2025. Crossing to Gran Canaria. Anchored in Playa Cura.

Strong winds arriving tomorrow for the foreseeable future, if I don’t cross now I risk being stuck in Tenerife when my flight leaves from Gran Canaria in 10 days time.
