Friday 4th of April. 2025. Anchored in Torrevieja.
The sea is still lumpy after yesterday's high winds so I haven't gone very far. It's a great anchorage here in Torrevieja, in the heart of the town and very sheltered.
The sea off Torrevieja is full baby Portuguese men of war jellyfish, for miles and miles.

There has to be a joke about free movement and jellyfish being named "Portuguese" in Spanish waters. Not that can think of one.

DeleteBeing a sad old git with too much time on my hands, I googled the Portuguese Man 'o war. It is not actually a jellyfish, but a siphonophore (yep a new one on me as well). Apparently named after their resemblance to Portuguese fighting ships.
