Sunday 28th of September 2025. La Graciosa anchorage in the Canary Islands.

265 miles, 3 1/2 days. 2 days almost no wind a 1 day almost too much wind. I was aiming for Tenerife but went where the wind took me.
My view, the cliffs of Lanzarote.
And in the other direction.
La Graciosa is a volcanic desert island.
Tuesday 30th September 2025.
Setting off for Tenerife,  should be there on Thursday.

  1. Hey folks. Really looking forward to Xmas somewhere in the Canaries... can start planning now that I know the 'air search' is not applicable!

  2. Well done, Brendan! Seems like there was no happy medium with the wind force for your trip.
La "Graciosa" has two meanings in Spanish: Graceful or funny = comic. Which one do you think suits it better?

    1. To be honest I can't see that either fit. What's Spanish for 'barren wasteland'?

  3. Was looking forward to your next photos being from Bermuda 😂
Seriously, great to see you have made it safely to the Canaries. If you get on to Lanzarote the volcano in the middle of the island is worth a visit. The landscape around it is amazing.

  4. "Barren wasteland" is exactly what I thought of some of the smaller islands in the Galapagos. They are also volcanic.and exposed to strong winds and currents.
