Tuesday 11th of November 2025. Marina del Sur. Las Galletas.
I've booked into the marina here at Las Galletas for 4 nights. Bad weather is expected on Thursday, maybe very bad but fortunately I am very close to Los Christianos where I expect to find a surfeit of Irish bars to while away the hours while Nomad gets a thorough washing.
Friday 14th. The clouds have finally lifted and I get my first view of Mount Teide 3718m, a volcano, it's the highest peak in Spain and nearly three times higher than Ben Nevis. It doesn't look much from here but I suppose that's because it's nearly twenty miles away.
Wow. That's aptly named! Sounds like you moved on just in the nick.... here's to cooked breakfasts and enjoying the craic!🍳🥓(do you know that last emoji comes up under 'bacon'??...looks like a beach towel)
ReplyDeleteActually, I've moved right into the path of the storm and would have been better off in the last marina, if I had known. Not much sleep last night and I've booked into a hotel for tonight.
DeleteThat's it leave your poor boat to face the bad weather on her own.
DeleteDoes it take getting used to sleeping on dry land after so long at sea?
I'm in the worst possible spot. The other boats in the marina should thank me for acting as a windbreak. No trouble sleeping on land, I'm tempted to go back.
